8bit Generation documentary series is going to be available on DVD/BD format and different packages in February 2012, to be every geek’s favorite gift. “We are setting up a pre order site to make sure you receive your copy prior to any other. 8bit Generation features over 50 original interviews with the fathers of the contemporary world. Names include Steve Wozniak, Jack Tramiel, Nolan Bushnell, Chuck Peddle, Andy Hertzfeld, Ralph Baer, Eugene Jarvis, Steve Russel and many others. Each interview is shot full HD and never released before. Rumors are that several more interviews are going to be added before the final release.

Zoe Blade is going to score the original sound track for 8bit Generation documentary series. “My sound ranges from electronic pop songs with infectious melodies, through to ambient music that is at times blissful and others haunting”, she says. 8bit Generation OST is going to be scored, arranged, performed and engineered by British composer Zoe Blade. P.I.G., from Junk Food staff, is supervising the OST developing process:”our music will be strong and emotional and will blend together electronic and human worlds, same as our stories do”. They say OST will also be released separately once the series is out.

8bit Generation documentary series is going to be released in both DVD and BD format and 5 (+1) packages would be available: BASIC, Deluxe, BluRay, Extra, Collector’s and LE. 8bit Generation package look is specifically designed in an 8bit fashion, resembling the look and feel of the machine’s cases. Materials will go from heavy cardboard to molded plastic depending on the package content and price. “Basically DVD packages will tend to be cream, while BD packages will go for black, even if we are studying some interesting variation that we’ll show on www.8bitgeneration.info when ready”.

Junk Food announces an update for the release and shipping date:

The planned release date will be delayed in order to include in the product  some more features that will surely increase its value. Due to the re-editing time neccessary to include the new feature we estimate a delivery date not beyond April 2012, hopefully sooner.
